The
Artist

There is a candle that burns deep in the heart of
the artist, a flame of living spirit.
It speaks through timeless ages of truths far into a soul.
The flames fluttering dance reveals reflections in mirrors,
only of emptiness, no light seen to unfold.
Pushing through the darkness the hand brings forth a light,
To release all the tears of time, for those who may see.
Slowly it tells it’s tale to the heart that listens,
Blind, oh so blind as it is right before me.
Pushing and twisting as to escape its silent cries,
smooth and soft, caressing the whole.
There is a candle that burns deep in the heart of an artist.
The painters canvas holding secrets untold.
No flame comes from the candles reflection, unfulfilled in its quest,
To touch the mirror of the soul.
Johnnie Kaylor
My first work of art was done at the age of
six,
a pencil drawing of Jesus carrying the cross to Calvary. Mrs. Carney my 2nd
grade teacher
was amazed by my work and entered the drawing into a contest that
won first place.
From that day and through the years it became evident to me that I was given
a
wonderful gift from God to share with the world.
I love to paint because of the
journey that happens through the experience.
Applying the paint to canvas in an, in
and out motion becomes a rather hypnotic experience
and at some point I project
into the painting. Literally I am walking around inside this new world!
As I
explore and create a road, I then walk down it. It is a vacuum and I enter into
this strange wonderful place.
With a stroke of the brush, magical images appear
then slowly render to life.
I am always amazed by the minds eye and the sprit
that guides me.
My artistic abilities include Oil Painting, Acrylics, Airbrush
and Pencils.
Creating masterful canvasses
each which encompasses a inner glow of sprit in
each and every composition.
