Joe Lopez - Drums
Even at a young age Joe always displayed a love for music. In seventh grade he was introduced to the trombone with an eye towards the drums. "I wanted to play drums, but instead they handed me a trombone and told me they had too many drummers". "I arrived early to rehearsal one day, I noticed a few loose drums, and a couple of cymbals that were sitting around collecting dust, before I could say anything, the band instructor asked if I knew anyone that wanted some really old crappy drums" (hmmm, right?). The focus
on drumming sharpened, he began to emulate some of his favorite drummers (too
many to list) and by age 15, Joe began anchoring bands like Katzeye, Naked
Angel, Czar, Opposite Earth, Bangarang, Chronicles (a Rush tribute
act), The Johnnie K Band, Great Grooviness, and has performed in more
traditional yet challenging roles within a 24 piece orchestra. After numerous
studio sessions, and who knows how many live shows, Joe has found expression
with a varied collage of musicians, and styles. "That's
what I do; I'm an entertainer who enjoys entertaining". |
